Bilirakis to Speak on the Importance of Biosimilars

Congressman Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), member of the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, tomorrow will be delivering a keynote speech for The Hill's A Discussion on Biosimilars, Patient Access & Affordability.
"Biosimilars have had remarkable international success. However, the pathway forward is still not fully formed in the United States. It is estimated that biosimilars have reduced treatment costs in Europe and Asia by 40%." Bilirakis said. "It means real savings for thousands of patients. Competition lowers prices. It is the free market at work. Patient-centered health care reforms can increase access to affordable medications."
