SHELBY STATEMENT ON INAUGURATION OF PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH

WASHINGTON, D. C.- U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-AL) made the following statement regarding the inauguration ceremony of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney:

"I am pleased to have participated in the inauguration of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. As they begin their second term, I believe they will continue to provide strong leadership for our country as we confront the challenges that lie ahead."

"The inauguration of the President and Vice President is a remarkable moment in our nation's history, and something I look forward to every four years. Not only is the inauguration an opportunity to look to the future of this country, but it reminds us of the rich history of our great nation. It is an honor and privilege to attend the ceremony and bear witness to the peaceful continuity of our democratic government."
