Titus Statement on President Obama's Scheduled Visit to Las Vegas

Statement

Date: Nov. 19, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada First District released the following statement today on President Obama's scheduled visit Friday to Del Sol High School in Las Vegas to discuss his executive action on immigration.

"For far too long House Republicans have failed to take action to fix our broken immigration system, denying 11 million undocumented immigrants, including 210,000 people in Nevada, the opportunity to come out of the shadows and pursue their American Dream. While executive action is not a permanent solution, in the absence of reform legislation, it is necessary to protect families, strengthen our community, and boost the economy," said Titus. "Two years after the President laid out his reform principles in Las Vegas it is fitting that he return to Southern Nevada to outline his historic plan to improve our broken immigration system. I look forward to welcoming the President back to Las Vegas and attending Friday's event."
