Appel: Getting Things Done

Press Release

Date: Oct. 29, 2014
Location: Des Moines, IA

Today, candidate for Congress in the 3rdDistrict, Staci Appel (D-Ackworth) continued her closing argument, highlighting her work in the Iowa Senate with both parties to get things done, including the reorganization of state government, ban on texting while driving and expanding voluntary pre-school to every 4-year old.

"Democrats don't have all the right ideas and Republicans don't have all the right ideas, and I will stand up to leaders in my own party when it means getting things done for Iowa's middle class families," said Appel. "Ending the partisanship and breaking the gridlock in Washington, starts with a little Iowa common sense."

Appel reiterated her bi-partisan credentials as her opponent David Young (R-Van Meter) campaigned with Speaker of the House John Boehner, the chief proprietor of the dysfunction and self-interest in Washington. This comes after Young's repeated statements in support of extreme elements in the Republican Party, including saying he was "proud" of Sen. Cruz efforts to shutdown the federal government and saying he would not have voted for the bipartisan deal that ultimately ended the shutdown.
