Tom Marino Stomps Opponents in Three-way Race

Statement

Date: Nov. 4, 2014

Ryan Barton, Campaign Manager for Representative Tom Marino (R-PA-10), Lycoming County and current candidate for reelection in Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District released the following statement from Tom Marino regarding his election victory:

"I am very thankful for all the support from across the 10th District. So many folks supported my candidacy for reelection and while I have said it before, I will say it again; representing them is among the greatest honors of my life.

I am also very thankful for the love and support from my family, my staff and all the volunteers who walked precincts, made phone calls, displayed signs and cast ballots. Words will never express how deeply and sincerely grateful I am. It is this gratitude that gives me the strength to keep fighting for them every day.

While the numbers speak for themselves, and this win is big, it is also important for every American in this District to know I will work for the betterment of their livelihoods and families regardless if they supported me -- because that is what tough leaders do.

I have a record of significant accomplishments here at home and in Washington. I helped ensure the Wayne County Veterans Clinic was opened and functional. I secured much-needed federal dollars for strengthening the levy in Athens and worked to provide disaster resources for areas affected by floods. And next year we will see the Central Susquehanna Thruway project begin. It will bring jobs and increased economic activity to the area.

I proposed and passed the RAPID Act that streamlines permitting processes and cuts red tape for approving important energy and transportation infrastructure projects.

I haven't stopped there. Congress needs internal reforming too. That's why I have proposed reforms like term limits, single-subject bills and rule changes to disallow majority leaders from preventing legislation to come to the floor for votes.

We have some of the best people in America and I am thankful to be their Congressman. Now, it is time to get back to work."
