At a news conference today outside of Monroe Energy, U.S. Congressman Pat Meehan (R-PA/7) earned the endorsement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce. Meehan was joined by Gene Barr, President of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry; Maggie Sheely, manager of Congressional and Public Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; and Jeffrey Warmann, CEO of Monroe Energy.

Maggie Sheely, Manager, Congressional and Public Affairs, U.S. Chamber of Commerce said, "The U.S. Chamber is proud to stand with the PA Chamber and the Greater Philadelphia business community to demonstrate our united support for Congressman Pat Meehan, a champion of free enterprise who has the courage to govern. Congressman Meehan has a proven record fighting for free enterprise and promoting job creation and growth in the Commonwealth and across the country."

Gene Barr, President of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, said, "Congressman Meehan has proven that he's focused on making our state a better home for job creation and economic opportunity. When families in Southeastern Pennsylvania needed his support to help save local refinery jobs -- jobs that have been in that community for decades -- he was there to make a difference. His willingness to set aside partisan politics to do what's best for Pennsylvania represents exactly the type of leadership we need in Washington, DC."

Jeffrey Warmann, CEO, Monroe Energy said, "Pat Meehan exemplifies the qualities that people should look for in their political leaders. He reaches across the aisle - working in a bipartisan fashion to find solutions to the problems our country is facing. Pat does what's best for the people he serves and not what is politically convenient. Pat's commitment to public service is evident by his tireless work ethic, and he is the best leader to represent us and Southeastern Pennsylvania in the 7th Congressional District."

Congressman Pat Meehan said, "I am grateful to have the support of the Pennsylvania Chamber and U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Since my first election to Congress, finding economic growth opportunities in our region has been my top priority. We have worked hard on projects like the revitalization of the area's refineries and expanding the Philadelphia International Airport. I am committed to working in Congress to reduce the tax burden and cut down on regulations that are harming small businesses."
