My most prized possession is a medallion made from metal taken from the Apollo XI Moon Lander. It was presented to my Grandfather by NASA for his involvement in the Spacesuits that Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Edgar Mitchel wore on the Moon. Those space suits were built here in Connecticut and symbolize to me our State's history of Technological and Manufacturing prowess.
Unfortunately, years of high taxes and excessive regulation have created a poor business climate leading many businesses, large and small, to relocate out of state or to close their doors completely. Lets make Connecticut competitive again.
If elected, I promise to use my voice and my votes to improve Connecticut's business climate; currently ranked #46 by CNBC. We have a wonderful, educated, and determined work force. We have excellent schools churning out well equipped graduates. Lets give our people the opportunity to stay in our State.
I believe the best way to attract businesses and entrepreneurs to our state is to establish a business environment where all businesses can flourish. We must stop the practice of picking winners and losers through government handouts.
As your state representative I will initiate a "Business Advisory Council" to allow local business owners the opportunity to speak directly to their elected officials and have a voice in public policy that shapes our economic future.
I support responsible and reasonable business regulation to make sure government is not creating unnecessary roadblocks to business success.
I support a review of all current state regulations on business to reduce unnecessary paperwork and red tape.
I support tort reform.
I support the elimination of the "business entity tax' for businesses with under 50 employees
