November 3rd Deadline Approaching For 5th District Military Service Academy Nomination Applications

Congressman Robert Hurt (R-Virginia) released the following statement regarding the upcoming deadline for 5th District Virginians to request nominations to the following United States Military Academies: U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The deadline for submitting an application is November 3, 2014:

"As the representative for Virginia's 5th District, I have the honor of nominating candidates to United States Military Service Academies each year. Please note the deadline that for requesting a congressional nomination is just five days away. I welcome the opportunity to nominate outstanding candidates to a service academy, and I encourage those who are interested to send their applications to my office by November 3rd in order for their requests to be evaluated. Best of luck to the students seeking to join the honorable ranks of our nation's servicemen and women."

NOTE: The deadline for submitting an application is November 3, 2014. The honor of attending one of the Academies comes with an obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation.
