Pompeo Statement on Attacks in Ottawa

Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Kansas, a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, issued the following statement on the attacks in Ottawa:

"While we are still waiting to find out more about this incident, the chances of copycat acts of terrorism are great--particularly as terrorists abroad have stepped up their activities and are recruiting throughout the West. Americans must clearly understand the threat and be willing to take the steps necessary to stop the terrorists both here and aboard. I am committed to continuing to work with my colleagues in Congress to ensure that Americans are safe."
