Doug Daggett Says the Common Theme from Residents is "Broken Promises"

Fifth Congressional District Candidate Doug Daggett continued his campaign in North Minneapolis on Wednesday by engaging with residents in the neighborhoods and at Shiloh Temple. Most of them are not satisfied with the continued lack of opportunity in their communities.

"If any place has been promised "change' over and over, it's North Minneapolis. Unfortunately the elected Democrats never follow through. Keith Ellison and the DFL machine has failed to deliver." Doug Daggett went on to relate that North Minneapolis is often promised more infrastructure investment, with the real money going elsewhere. "DFL politicians champion light rail and streetcar programs that benefit already wealthy areas while a fraction of that money could go to enhanced bus-lines with heated stops, better service, and more options. Keith Ellison and the Democrat Party have made their priorities clear, and their priorities do not involve North Minneapolis."

Doug Daggett is a software/technology executive that is running to advance the opportunity of people in the district. He believes in smarter government, focused solutions, and closing the achievement gap. He is challenging incumbent U.S. Representative Keith Ellison (DFL-Minneapolis).
