Co-Founder of National Non-Partisan Group to Campaign for Eliot Cutler

Mark McKinnon, a nationally known Republican political strategist and leading political reformer who helped found the group No Labels will campaign, in Portland Friday for Independent candidate for Governor Eliot Cutler.

McKinnon has been praised for his ability to put principle before partisanship.

He has been the principal media advisor to the campaigns of President George W. Bush and Sen. John McCain, as well as Texas Democrats Ann Richards and Charlie Wilson and Bono. He has served on the board of Americans Elect and co-founded No Labels -- organizations that are dedicated to overcoming partisanship, gridlock and special interests in American politics.

McKinnon said, "There are few people in the country who have fought as hard for political reform as Eliot Cutler. Voters in Maine and all across America are sick of partisan politics, and I'm excited about Eliot's campaign because he is such a great example of a someone who is passionate about reform and is using the political process to do right by the people of Maine."
