Hogs Are Back in New Joni For Iowa TV Spot

Press Release

Date: Oct. 22, 2014
Location: Des Moines, IA

Today, Republican U.S. Senate nominee Joni Ernst released a new TV ad titled "Lot.' Filmed in a hog lot in southwest Iowa, the new ad features Joni standing around dozens of hogs as she promises to fight for a balanced budget and curb the wasteful spending brought on by typical politicians in Washington. The new ad features the same hogs that appeared in Joni's "Squeal" ad earlier this year, although they're older and bigger now.

"To not address our national debt and failing economy now will only create problems for future generations," said spokesperson Gretchen Hamel. "Joni will bring proven Iowa solutions to address the failings in Washington and ensure American taxpayer dollars are responsibly spent."

This ad follows an earlier ad where Joni boasted that she grew up on a southwest Iowa farm castrating hogs. That ad currently has over 630,000 views on YouTube. The new ad will begin airing in key markets across the state, and can be accessed on the campaign's website.

Transcript of "Lot:'

"It's a mess. Dirty, noisy, and it stinks. Not this lot -- I'm talking about the one in Washington. Too many typical politicians, hogging, wasting and full of … Well let's just say, bad ideas. It's time to stop spending money we don't have and balance the budget. I'm Joni Ernst -- I approve this message because cleaning up the mess in Washington is going to take a whole lot of Iowa common sense."
