A recent Roll Call piece highlighted support from U.S. Senator Mark Begich, Senator Lisa Murkowski and Congressman Don Young for speedy federal approval of an export license for the Alaska liquefied natural gas (LNG) project.
The Alaska Delegation wrote a letter on September 30 to the Department of Energy Director of the Division of Natural Gas Regulatory Activities John Anderson and detailing the Alaska LNG Project's plans to export LNG to both free-trade agreement (FTA) and non-free trade Agreement (non-FTA) countries and highlighting its importance to the state's economy.
"The Alaska Delegation agrees the natural gas project is good for Alaska's economy and we must work together to move the project forward," said Begich. "The Alaska LNG Project is a win/win for Alaska. It will provide significant state revenue, thousands of high-paying construction and operational jobs, and much-needed access to low-cost energy."
