Press Release

Date: Oct. 20, 2014
Location: North Palm Beach, FL

For the eighth week in a row, the Murphy for Congress campaign will launch a new television ad in the West Palm Beach-Treasure Coast market. Entitled "Community," the 30-second spot features Murphy discussing his commitment to putting the community first and prioritizing local issues. This work includes securing funding to protect the local environment and opposing All Aboard Florida, both of which are vital to the health of the local economy and to preserving the quality of life across Florida's 18th District.

Text: "What makes our part of Florida special is the unique character of our communities. That's why I'm fighting to protect our waterways, fund beach renourishment, and oppose high-speed rail through our downtowns. It's all about working hard here to preserve our distinct way of life. We should put our community first. I'm Patrick Murphy and I approve this message because I'll never stop working to make sure this remains a special place to call home."

"While he remains focused on changing the tone in Washington and working in a bipartisan manner to get our nation's fiscal house in order, since day one Patrick has prioritized local issues important to his constituents," Murphy for Congress campaign manager Anthony Kusich noted. "The strength of his re-election campaign is a testament to his hard work building a better and brighter future for the Treasure Coast and Palm Beaches."

Since being elected, Murphy has participated in over 500 local events to directly discuss the issues of greatest concern to the community with the people he represents.
