Bustos Endorsed by National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare

Today in Peoria, Cheri Bustos received the endorsement of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare (NCPSSM) for her strong record of fighting to protect Medicare and Social Security. Max Richtman, the President of the NCPSSM, presented Cheri with a pair of boxing gloves for her record of fighting to protect Social Security and Medicare.

Cheri Bustos has been a strong advocate for Illinois seniors and has fought hard to protect Medicare and Social Security for current seniors and future generations. She strongly opposes any efforts to privatize Social Security and to end Medicare's guaranteed benefits. She's also helped lead efforts against switching to a so-called "chained CPI" system for calculating Social Security benefits that could lead to benefit cuts for seniors and has advocated for protecting local Social Security field offices from cutting back services.

Bustos has a 100% score from NCPSSM, while her opponent, ex-Congressman Bobby Schilling, received a 0%.
