Ernst: "My Opponent Doesn't Even Know What He Voted On"

At an open event for voters in Le Mars this morning, Republican U.S. Senate nominee Joni Ernst spoke to local press regarding the increasing threat of ISIL and the importance of national security in this election:

"My opponent, again, is so disengaged; he doesn't even know what he voted on. During the debate the other evening, he stated that he supported and he voted on authorizing President Obama to air strikes against Syria. Nobody's voted on that, that's the President's authority; he's doing that on his own. So Congressman Braley's not even sure what he's voting on in the House."

"Again, he's so disengaged from the entire process. But I can tell you that I am someone who has had their boots on the ground in Iraq, and when it comes to standing up for our men and women, and making sure that we are engaging them in the right activities, using a careful thought process before engaging our sons and daughters overseas, I will do that. I will always stand up for our men and women, and that's a huge difference between the Congressman and myself."
