John Kline to Host U.S. Service Academy Information Day Monday, Sept. 22

Congressman John Kline is pleased to announce he will be hosting a U.S. Service Academy Information Day on Monday, Sept. 22 at the Diamondhead Education Center in Burnsville. The information session will provide important information to candidates and their families about the application process, and how candidates can seek nomination through his congressional office as well as their U.S. Senators.

"As a retired Marine Corps Colonel now serving on the House Armed Services Committee, I take a great deal of pride in the fine young women and men who serve our country and appreciate the challenges of applying to service academies," said Kline, a 25-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps whose wife is a retired Army nurse and son has served three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. "The caliber of service academy candidates from the 2nd District and all of Minnesota is high, and I look forward to visiting with students at my service academy information day."

Kline's information session will provide valuable information about the application process to interested students and their families including requirements for admission, the application timeline, and the process for seeking a Congressional nomination from a member of Congress.

Representatives from the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, West Point, U.S. Naval Academy, and both U.S. Senators' offices have been invited to participate.
