"On this solemn day, we mark the 13th anniversary of the worst terrorist attack on the United States of America in our nation's history. We pause to remember the 3,000 innocent victims that were murdered that day by a group of fanatics, hell-bent on destroying our very freedom and way of life. We also remember those four brave Americans that were senselessly murdered in Benghazi some 11 years later, on September 11, 2012. They, like those murdered on 9/11, were moms and dads, and sons and daughters. Out of the loss of life and destruction from that day, we also reflect on the brave men and women who exemplified the meaning of selflessness in their heroic attempts to save others."
"After these attacks, a new wave of brave Americans took the fight directly to the Taliban and Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, destroying a majority of their leadership and eliminating their capacity to operate. In Iraq, American and allied forces deposed of a ruthless tyrant who slaughtered his own people and provided safe haven to those very terrorists who would do us harm. We must also never forget their sacrifice. Their bravery and courage goes beyond no other."
"While great strides were made to defeat these terrorists, today a new threat has emerged in much of the Middle East. The Islamic State (ISIS) has conquered significant portions of Iraq and Syria, spreading their warped and misguided brand of Islam in an attempt to establish an Islamic Worldwide Caliphate. They have shown their brutality and ruthlessness through the murders, rapes, and enslavements of countless innocent civilians, including Christians and Americans. ISIS must be defeated at all costs. President Obama must stop viewing this group through a political lens, and start viewing them through the lens of a Commander-in-Chief. Our country's security and interests are directly threatened by ISIS. It's time our President once again take the fight directly to them and prevent another 9/11."
