Alex Mooney Statement on 9/11 Anniversary

Statement

Date: Sept. 11, 2014
Location: Martinsburg, WV

Today, Alex Mooney, Republican nominee for Congress in West Virginia's second congressional district, released the following statement regarding the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

"Today we remember the devastating events of 9/11 which took so many American lives in 2001," said Alex Mooney. We also remember the terrorist attack on Benghazi in 2012 which devastated more American families with the tragic loss of their loved ones serving in Libya. Though these terrible events have done more than shake the ground of New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and our embassys overseas, they have not rattled our resolve to stand united in defense of our great nation and our freedoms.

We can never thank our first responders, our military service members, and hardworking Americans enough for their heroism. Their patriotic service reminds us of the costs we must bear, not only to uphold our motto "Mountaineers Are Always Free," but to preserve our rights and freedoms as Americans."
