Barrow Statement on NRCC Ad

Press Release

Date: Sept. 8, 2014
Location: Augusta, GA

U.S. Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) released the following statement in response to the first ad released from the National Republican Congressional Committee in support of Rick Allen's campaign.

Congressman Barrow said:

"You name an issue - gun control, the Keystone Pipeline, Obamacare, Medicare, just to name a few -- and I've stood up to this Administration. Every one of these issues is important to Georgians, and I've opposed the President on every one. National Republicans and Rick Allen have no idea what folks in Georgia want. They're in this only for themselves and running these same ads every year isn't going to change the fact that I listen to Georgia every day."

According to these same vote measurements, Congressman Barrow has voted with Speaker John Boehner and new House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy 52 percent and 60 percent of the time, respectively.

National Journal ranked Congressman Barrow the most bipartisan member of Congress in the House of Representatives who is running for re-election.

Congressman Barrow is leading the effort in the House to pass a Balanced Budget Amendment, and has passed over $100 billion in wasteful spending cuts.
