Press Release

Date: Sept. 2, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Today Congressman Kevin Cramer released the following statement after the National Corn Growers Association announced North Dakota State University as the site of the National Agricultural Genotyping Center:

"This is good news for North Dakota, especially our corn producers who will benefit from increased research aimed at better crop genetics that increase efficiencies. The selection of NDSU reinforces its reputation as a national hub for high caliber agricultural research. Everyone from faculty to commodity group leaders who helped make the case for North Dakota should be congratulated for their work."

Earlier this month Congressman Cramer helped host the National Corn Growers Association's site selection committee in Fargo, helping promote North Dakota's attributes and demonstrating his commitment to agricultural research. In addition, Cramer wrote in July to the Association encouraging the selection of NDSU, citing the crop diversity in North Dakota and sophisticated greenhouse facilities on the campus.
