Kim continues to push for measures that will increase the integry of our elections process. One simple improvement Kim is pushing for is the adoption of Federal ID standards for voting in state and local elections. There are thousands of people weighing in on how our cities, counties, and state will be governed, who have not even met minimal Federal ID requirements. Kim is also seen by many as a champion for Oregonians who want to exercise their rights to own firearms. After several attempts in recent years she was finally able to safeguard the privacy of law abiding citizens who have been issued Concealed Handgun Licenses (CHL). Legislation to help people from other states with a CHL who want to carry in Oregon and improvements to the state's system for gun purchase background checks remain high on her list of priorities.
