Location: Junction City, KS

Wednesday, Congressman Tim Huelskamp (KS-01) joined U.S. Senator Pat Roberts and the rest of the Kansas Delegation in sending letters to Secretary of the Army John McHugh and General Raymond Odierno, Army Chief of Staff, to fight potential cuts to personnel and operations at Ft. Riley as a result of the Army's planned Supplemental Programmatic Environmental Assessment (SPEA). This assessment will determine possible force reductions at Army installations around the country.

Representative Huelskamp issued the following statement:

"As it has been, Fort Riley will continue to be on the forefront of modernizing the Army's infantry capabilities. The men and women stationed at Fort Riley receive some of the best training in the country. As the Army reviews the capabilities at the Fort, I am committed to working with community leaders and the Commanding General to demonstrate why Fort Riley is the best home for the Big Red One."
