Issue Position

Arkansas leads the nation in food insecurity for children. That means kids across our state are going to bed every night wondering where they'll get their next meal. At school, hungry kids often just can't concentrate so they don't learn. That means more trips to the school nurse and principal, attendance issues and ultimately leaving school before graduation. Collaboration between schools, businesses, government and non-profits can end childhood hunger and help kids stay in schools. Again, a minimal investment can lead to huge rewards and saving in the near future.
