ENVIRONMENT: Preserving and protecting our natural resources is a priority, especially here in Northern Iowa. We need to do more to keep our water clean for all Iowans. There is also more we can do to keep Iowa a world leader in renewable energy -- in biofuels, solar, and wind energy. Iowa is uniquely positioned in renewable energy to add value to the crops of our farmers, create good jobs that can't be shipped overseas, and end our dependence on fossil fuels to reduce the growing impact of climate change.

VETERANS: Its time we make sure that every veteran, no matter when they served, get the attention and care they need from the time they enlist until the time they leave this Earth. We need to make getting into and being treated for health care issues are smooth and timely. We need to make sure that when veterans are away, their families are taken care of. When veterans come home they should be welcomed and given assistance if needed to find a good paying job right here in Iowa.

EDUCATION:
We can not continue to starve our schools and expect our children to thrive. Not having a school budget and taking money away from early childhood education is NOT the way to go about this. We need to find ways to fund our rural schools that are suffering from dropping enrollment and keep our teachers here in Iowa. I am ready to sit down at the table and work for our schools, teachers and children. Having a world class educational system is what Iowa had always been known for. We need to make that a priority again so our children are ready to face their next challenge whether that be university, community college or job training.
