Zinke Announces Plan to Increase Energy Jobs July 30, 2014

Press Release

The plan, which focuses on streamlining permitting, preventing punitive regulations, improving infrastructure, and expanding energy export opportunities, specifically supports the Keystone XL pipeline, the construction of the West Coast export terminals, and exporting excess LNG resources.

"Responsibly developing our natural resources will allow us to lower living costs and provide good-paying jobs for hard-working Montanans while providing our nation with energy independence and security moving forward," said Zinke "Montana has the resources to be a world leader in energy production and an exporter of our energy resources, but in order for Montana to realize its full economic potential we have to remove the uncertainty created by government regulations."

Zinke, a 23 year veteran, emphasized the importance of energy independence in securing the energy future of our state, and our nation.
"The government overreach that is taking place isn't just impacting prices at the pump and our electrical bills, it is also taking a toll on our national security. We need to secure the future of our state and our nation by developing our domestic energy sources," said Zinke. "Not only will doing so strengthen our position internationally, it will ensure that our troops are not fighting for a commodity that we can produce here at home."
