Senator John Walsh welcomed Jonas Rides at the Door, a Missoula resident and Vet Voice Foundation representative, to his Washington, D.C. office. Walsh and Rides at the Door discussed conservation efforts and preserving Montana's public lands.
"It is a privilege to meet with Montana veterans who are working to protect access to public lands," Walsh said. "It is important that we come together to work on Montana-made solutions to preserve our outdoor heritage."
Walsh is a cosponsor of the Rocky Mountain Front Heritage Act, a bill that will protect and preserve public access for hunters, fishermen, and outdoor enthusiasts. Fellow Montana Senator Jon Tester is also a cosponsor of the bill.
The Vet Voice Foundation was formed in 2009 and empowers veterans to become civic leaders in the areas of health care, jobs, and the environment.
