"I am pleased that Regulatory Certainty Act (H.R.4854), Coal Jobs Protection Act of 2014 (H.R. 5077), and Waters of the United States Regulatory Overreach Protection Act of 2014 (H.R. 5078) were successfully passed out of Committee this morning.
"After three years of hearings in my subcommittee it is clear that U.S. EPA is out of control and has disregarded the intent of Congress and its long standing partnership with the States in administering the Clean Water Act. We all want to protect the environment but EPA has attempted multiple power grabs to unilaterally expand its own jurisdiction and authority over the States. EPA's actions have created an atmosphere of regulatory uncertainty for workers and businesses and would have a devastating effect on the Nation's economy. The three bills that were successfully passed out of Committee today will bolster State and Federal partnerships and ensure that the environment is responsibly protected without the unnecessary government overreach that EPA has been exercising."
