Issue Position: Role as Lieutenant Governor

Issue Position

The first job of a nominee for Lt. Governor is to elect a Republican Governor. I will work tirelessly to elect our Republican nominee and defeat Dan Malloy and his job crushing agenda.
Once elected as Lt. Governor I would like to take on two roles in a new administration. The first would be as a whip in the General Assembly to constantly prod the over-comfortable legislators in Hartford to enact real reforms to stimulate job growth in Connecticut.
The second role would be as a liaison to the cities and towns of Connecticut. Part of the problem with Hartford now is the willingness to pass unfunded mandates to the municipalities that drive up property taxes and put huge burdens on local government. I want to build consensus with local governments and work to reduce the burden from Hartford to help improve our schools and reduce the cost of living in Connecticut.
