Issue Position

Elder abuse is becoming a growing concern. During my time as a prosecutor, I worked closely with the Genesee County Elder Abuse Task Force on some of the most egregious elder abuse cases. Today, I am proud to be a top advocate in the legislature for our senior citizens.

The first bill I introduced increased penalties against those that embezzle funds from vulnerable adults. I also introduced legislation that ensures that restitution owed to victims will be paid to their families in the tragic event the victim passes away before their restitution is paid. Each of these bills are now law.

Government's top priority is the protection of its people; especially our most vulnerable. I will continue to be their voice in the legislature.
