Grimes Statement on the Partisan Sportsmen's Act

Statement

Date: July 7, 2014
Location: Frankfort, KY

Today, Alison Lundergan Grimes released the following statement, urging Senator Mitch McConnell to support the Bipartisan Sportsmen's Act:

"I call on Senator Mitch McConnell to put partisanship aside and support the Bipartisan Sportsmen's Act of 2014. This important piece of legislation, which has nearly four dozen cosponsors from both parties, protects traditional hunting and fishing rights, defends the Second Amendment and provides funds for conservation purposes. The bill also facilitates issuance of duck stamps, shifts regulation of lead fishing tackle to the states, provides funding for waterfowl conservation projects, and eases public access to federal lands for shooting ranges, hunting and fishing. In the U.S. Senate, I will continue to stand with Kentucky's sportsmen and women, target shooters and conservationists."
