Thousands of bills are submitted every year affecting individual citizens and businesses of Washington state. As a co-owner of a small business, predictability of government is a vital necessity to allow planning for future decisions. One of the most unpredictable in the coming months is the Affordable Care Act and our State Exchange that implements it. These will monumentally influence the ability for business to offer health insurance to their employees…. or not.

So far, the roll out of this act has been clumsy, incompetent and quite frankly, worrisome. Story after story is being told of families that have affordable and desirable policies being canceled only to be replaced with policies that are nearly double the premiums for less and inadequate coverage.

Our future only holds more of the same. Businesses, family's and individuals don't know from one day to the next what to expect. We must work to minimize the influence that government can hold over our lives. Legislation that puts more control back into the peoples hands. Reducing taxes so that we can keep more of our own money. Reducing the size of government itself. Predictability is key.
