Location: Gainesville, GA

U.S. Congressman Doug Collins today announced his endorsement of Jack Kingston for U.S. in the July 22 Republican Primary Runoff Election.

"Jack Kingston is a proven leader for Georgia Republicans who has always stood up for the folks at home, not Washington insiders," said Collins. "In the short time I've been in Washington, I've made it my purpose to put people before politics, and I've seen Jack Kingston do the same. Jack has been a presence in North Georgia throughout the campaign, and his message of renewing America, cutting taxes, and reducing energy costs have resonated."

"I trust Jack to go to the Senate, break the gridlock, and give life to the conservative solutions we've started in the House. I encourage my fellow Georgians to vote for Jack Kingston on July 22nd and ensure a Republican takeover of the Senate in November."

Doug Collins was elected to represent Northeast Georgia in the House of Representatives in 2012. A former small business owner and managing partner at Collins & Crider, Doug previously served three terms in the Georgia House and was named one of Governor Deal's Floor Leaders in January 2011.

"Doug has been a powerful advocate for Northeast Georgia during his very productive time in elected office, and I am grateful for his endorsement," Kingston said. "I look forward to working with him to enact our shared vision of a smaller government, more private sector job creation, and a strong national defense."

Georgia Republicans return to the polls on July 22 to select their party's standard-bearer in November to replace retiring Senator Saxby Chambliss. Early in-person voting is underway and absentee ballots are available for those who wish to vote by mail.
