Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) issued the following statement regarding today's Supreme Court ruling that struck down President Obama's 2012 recess appointments to the National Labor Relation's Board (NLRB).
"In a stunning 9-0 rebuke of our President, and former constitutional law professor, all Justices concluded "that the President lacked the power to make the recess appointments here at issue.' The ruling places a cloud over the legitimacy of recent actions taken by the NLRB." Blackburn said.
"This decision is a victory for the American people and our system of checks and balances. Even the Supreme Court's most liberal judges appointed by President Obama were unable to look past his lawless behavior. Contrary to President Obama's belief, Executive authority does have limitations. It is my sincere hope that the President will learn from the Court's decision and begin steering this country away from the constitutional crisis he is creating."
