Issue Position

There is no legitimate role for the federal government in marriage. As your representative in Washington D.C., I will work to remove the federal government from marriage altogether, and return it to the lowest possible level of governance. Optimally, there would be no government intrusion into the institution of marriage, and all consenting adults would be free to marry whom they please, and any issues would be left to private contracts, religious institutions, and the free market.
