Trends come and go in public education, but the need for quality teachers in every classroom remains a constant. Bo is a product of a K-12 education in middle Tennessee public schools system and now has two sons attending Gower Elementary. He knows firsthand the impact of great teachers and is dedicated to policies that attract and retain a high quality educational workforce here at home. Tennessee is a diverse state with as many different educational demands as there are school districts. By setting standards high at the state level, Bo will work to assure local autonomy that promotes success, freeing local districts to respond to the needs of the students they serve and making sure that they are properly funded to implement the innovations they design.
Bo also knows that students must have a positive environment in order to learn. He will work to guarantee that every school is a physically, intellectually and emotionally safe place for students, teachers and parents. From common sense school safety provisions to policies that protect the civil rights of every student, Bo is committed to providing the groundwork for positive, constructive learning throughout Tennessee schools.
