U.S. Representative Frank A. LoBiondo (NJ-02) issued the following statement today about pending closures to some Atlantic City casinos:
"These latest announcements underscore the tremendous challenges Atlantic City and our casinos have faced over the past five years. President Obama's failure at the helm of the nation's economy has led to an unstable, insecure recovery. Furthermore, the demonization by some in Washington of the gaming industry and politicians in Trenton who seek to expand competition to our casinos within the state have done irreparable harm. Mayor Guardian has put forth a positive vision for Atlantic City's future - this latest setback must not deter from that.
"My foremost concern is with the employees and their families. My office stands ready to assist and I will continue to fight against efforts to further weaken Atlantic City's livelihood."
