Issue Position

Prior to 2010, Kansas has a tax structure that was uncompetitive with our neighbors and stifling to both families and small business. Lowering the income tax burden on individuals and corporations promotes economic growth, and Kansas has taken substantial steps in that direction. I also support lowering the sales tax burden, and voted to restore the sales tax rate to 5.7%, which it was prior to 2010.
