House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte released the statement below regarding the capture of one of the suspected leaders, Ahmed Abu Khattala, of the terrorist attacks in Benghazi, Libya that resulted in the deaths of four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.
Chairman Goodlatte: "Just last week, FBI Director James Comey testified before the House Judiciary Committee and I expressed concern that no one had yet been brought to justice for murdering four Americans at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. Today, nearly two years after these terrorist attacks, I am relieved that one of the suspected ringleaders of these terrorist attacks has finally been apprehended. I thank our brave military and law enforcement officers for their efforts to capture him. As his prosecution moves forward, I will be closely watching to ensure that President Obama lives up to his pledge to bring the Benghazi terrorists to justice."
