Governor Chris Christie today released the following statement in recognition of the 70th Anniversary of D-Day, when Allied forces landed at Normandy during World War II:
"Today we join the rest of the country in recognizing the 70th anniversary of D-Day, which defined our nation's Greatest Generation and served as a turning point in World War II and our country's history. For the courage and sacrifice of our soldiers on that fateful day, we will be forever grateful as a state and a nation. I invite all New Jerseyans to thank our brave men and women currently serving in the armed forces as well as all living veterans of past conflicts. It is their dedication that allows America to remain free and serve as a beacon of strength, courage and freedom across the globe."
