Gallego Statement Regarding Ongoing Red River Land Dispute

U.S. Representative Pete P. Gallego (D-Alpine) released the following statement regarding ongoing discussions between the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Texas land owners along the Red River:

"It is patently unfair that the federal government would claim ownership of land to which Texans have title and on which these Texans have dutifully paid taxes. I strongly urge the Bureau of Land Management to proceed with utmost respect for Texans' property rights - and I look forward to working in Congress to protect those rights."
