Making College More Affordable
New figures released over the last few days show why it is more important than ever to make college more affordable for families here in Illinois.
First, the Census Bureau has determined that a college graduate on average made more than $51,000, compared with $28,000 for someone with only a high-school diploma or an equivalent degree. The figures come from the Census Bureau's annual look at educational achievement in America.
But as the importance of a college degree increases, so too does the cost to students.
