Today, Gov. Dave Heineman ordered that U.S. and Nebraska flags be flown at half-staff until noon on Monday, May 26 in observance of Memorial Day.
Gov. Heineman said, "Our flags will fly at half-staff to honor the courage and dedication of those who have sacrificed for our freedom. Memorial Day is a day to remember and to recognize the brave men and women of the United States armed forces who have served and who are currently serving. We appreciate their service to our country."
On Monday, the Governor will attend Memorial Day ceremonies at Memorial Park in Omaha.
