H.R. 3202, the "Essential Transportation Worker Identification Credential Assessment Act," introduced by Subcommittee Chairman Candice Miller (R-MI), Ranking Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-MS), and Subcommittee Ranking Member Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) requires the Secretary of Homeland Security to prepare a comprehensive security assessment of the transportation security card program.
H.R. 3488, "To establish the conditions under which the Secretary of Homeland Security may establish preclearance facilities, conduct preclearance operations, and provide customs services outside the United States, and for other purposes," introduced by Subcommittee Chairman Patrick Meehan (R-PA), Subcommittee Chairman Peter King (R-NY), Subcommittee Chairman Candice Miller (R-MI), Subcommittee Chairman Susan Brooks (R-IN), Congressman Mike Rogers (R-AL), Congressman Paul Broun (R-GA), Congressman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), Ranking Member Brian Higgins (D-NY), Congressman Bill Keating (D-MA), along with other Members.
H.R. 3846, the "United States Customs and Border Protection Authorization Act," introduced by Subcommittee Chairman Candice Miller (R-MI), Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX), and Ranking Member Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), provides for the authorization of border, maritime, and transportation security responsibilities and functions in the Department of Homeland Security and the establishment of United States Customs and Border Protection.

Subcommittee Chairman Peter King (R-NY) on the hearing: "There is no doubt that foreign actors, including nation-states, terrorists, and criminal organizations, pose a grave cyber threat to the U.S. homeland. This hearing will examine the persistent threat, assess intentions and capabilities of these bad actors, and review U.S. coordination and response efforts. Combatting these threats will require a coordinated effort among multiple partners. I look forward to holding this hearing jointly with Chairman Meehan and the Subcommittee for Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection and Security Technologies."
