Issue Position: Regulation Reform

Issue Position

Job creation and economic growth will be my top priority in Congress. Cutting back on burdensome, unnecessary and unrealistic regulations is the first step towards creating jobs.

During President Obama's first four years in office, the annual cost of regulations on the economy increased by around $70 billion. In 2012 alone, the administration and federal agencies proposed an astounding 2,605 new rules. How can we expect to get our economy working again when so much time is being dedicated to ensure compliance with new rules?

We have to put an end to letting bureaucrats create onerous regulations to justify their existence. Burdensome regulations need to be repealed so that job creators can stop worrying about compliance and starting working again.
