Cassidy Pressures FERC on Midla Pipeline

Press Release

Date: April 11, 2014
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Energy

Congressman Bill Cassidy is calling on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to discuss the American Midstream Pipeline (Midla) abandonment application. This request builds on Dr. Cassidy's ongoing efforts to provide greater transparency on the safety and soundness of the Midla pipeline, which delivers natural gas to nine parishes in Louisiana.

Read the letter here and see Dr. Cassidy's statement below:

"The Midla pipeline plays an important role in bringing affordable energy to thousands of Louisianans. Closing the pipeline would mean fewer energy options and an outright replacement of the pipeline would cause unaffordable rate increases. FERC needs to carefully consider the public's interest when reviewing this abandonment application. I look forward to further discussing these concerns with Chairman LaFleur."
