Lankford Remembers OKC Bombing Victims

Statement

Date: April 19, 2014
Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Representative James Lankford (R-OK) issued the following statement in solemn remembrance of the anniversary of the April 19, 1995 terrorist bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah federal building in Oklahoma City that claimed 168 lives:

"Each year, Oklahomans pause and remember the 168 moms, dads, sisters, brothers and children who were stolen from their families by hate and terrorism on April 19, 1995. We also remember the unimaginable bravery of first responders and fellow Oklahomans who ran into a devastated building to rescue survivors.

"Oklahoma is known around the country as a place of hope, healing and helping hands. We take care of each other because we are a community of families. Today, we remember those we lost in the terrorist attack on the Alfred P. Murrah federal building, but we also celebrate the strength and incomparable spirit of Oklahoma's people. I pray that Oklahoma families continue to find comfort in the valley of the shadow."
