On Wednesday, April 9, 2014, Congressman Al Green (TX-09) attended the memorial ceremony held at Fort Hood to honor the three fallen soldiers and those wounded in the tragic shooting that occurred on April 2, 2014.

Congressman Al Green was part of a group of elected officials, led by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, which also included members of the Texas Congressional Delegation as well as Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. The delegation paid their respects to the fallen and wounded as well as praised the ongoing heroism of our troops.

"This tragedy has shocked the consciences of all people of good will. Every day our troops make the ultimate sacrifice for our nation abroad," Congressman Al Green said. "It is deeply saddening and troubling that these brave individuals had to make this sacrifice on an army base within our borders."
