Congressman to host 200 constituents; calls tomorrow's ceremony chance to give thanks for our freedom
Washington -Congressman Joe Pitts (R, PA-16) tomorrow will play host to nearly 200 constituents from Berks, Chester , and Lancaster Counties as the nation celebrates the 55th Presidential Inauguration. Following the inaugural ceremony Congressman Pitts will serve his constituents refreshments in a reception room in the Rayburn House Office Building .
"Peaceful transitions of power are a rare thing in the history of the world," said Congressman Pitts, "but our 43 Presidents and 109 Congresses have come to power peacefully according to the will of the people. Tomorrow's ceremony is not a chance to honor George W. Bush or the Republican Party. It's an opportunity we have every four years to give thanks for the great and precious gift of our democracy. As other nations fight for the privilege of doing the same, we should remember the men and women who have served to establish and protect the freedoms we enjoy tomorrow."
