Propane Legislation Sails Through Senate

Statement

Date: March 14, 2014
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Energy

The United States Senate unanimously approved the Home Heating Emergency Assistance Through Transportation (HHEATT) Act this week. This legislation recently passed the House by a wide bipartisan margin, and now will be sent to the President's desk for his signature or veto.

Below is a statement by Congressman Ribble on the HHEATT Act's passage in the Senate:

"I am encouraged to see this bipartisan legislation pass so swiftly through the Senate. Many Wisconsinites continue to struggle to heat their homes in the middle of winter because of the continuing propane shortage in the Midwest, and this legislation will help ease heating costs for Wisconsin families. I am hopeful President Obama will sign this legislation into law as soon as possible."
